Onboarding steps one and two cover sandbox identity verification (KYC) and adding a sandbox bank account. Both steps use the same UI as the live environment — the difference is that the sandbox accepts synthetic data, approves quickly, and no real money is involved.

Sandbox identity verification

1

Start from onboarding

After email verification, Veil routes you to the identity step. Click Start verification to begin. (If you’d already started before, the button reads Resume verification — same flow.)
2

Complete the verification form

Veil opens the verification flow in a new browser tab, hosted by a regulated banking partner. In sandbox, any image is accepted as a document — you do not need a real government ID, and the form approves synthetic submissions quickly.Complete the form, close the tab, and return to Veil — onboarding advances automatically once your status updates.
3

You're approved

Sandbox approval is fast. Once approved, onboarding moves to the bank account step.
The verification form opens in a new browser tab so your Veil onboarding session stays open. Veil receives only your approval status — not your documents.
For more on how KYC fits into Veil, see KYC. If you need to re-submit or check your status, return to the identity step from the onboarding screen.

Sandbox bank account

1

Pick a region

After identity verification, onboarding shows Add your bank account with a list of regions (Europe, UK, US, International). Click the region your sandbox bank account belongs to.
2

Fill in sandbox bank details

Fill in the required fields for your region (for example, IBAN and BIC for SEPA, or routing number and account number for ACH). In sandbox, you can use synthetic test values rather than a real bank account — but inputs still have to pass shape checks (a valid-shape IBAN, a valid-checksum ACH routing number). The account numbers themselves do not need to correspond to a real account. For the full breakdown of supported regions and required fields, see Add a bank account.
3

Submit

Veil registers your sandbox bank account. Onboarding moves to wallet creation.
Cooldowns on additional bank accounts apply in sandbox the same way they do in production — see Add a bank account.
